The Ojai Valley Youth Foundation connects youth with positive opportunities that make a difference in the after school hours.

WHAT is the Ojai Valley Youth Foundation?
We are a non-profit organization. We offer after school programs to junior and senior high school students in employment, leadership, career training, mentoring, and community service. We have been in existence since 1997.

WHAT do we do?
OVYF serves as a CONNECTING POINT for teen-agers and local government, schools, businesses, community organizations, parents and families.
Our programs include jr. high mentoring, the Oak View Teen Center, Generation Communications, the Youth Employment Service, the Teen Insight Seminar, Pizza Nights, and the community Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.

WHO do we serve?
Our activities are open to ALL the teenagers (ages 12-18) of the Ojai Valley. We actively seek to involve young people from a wide range of backgrounds and circumstances. Most of our offerings are free. Where there is a fee, we offer scholarships.

WHERE do programs take place?
Our programs take place on school campuses, in churches and parks, at the
Oak View Teen Center, 555 Mahoney Ave. and at our main office, located at 201 Church Road, across the street from Nordhoff High School.

WHY does the Youth Foundation exist?
The teenage years are a critical time of life. When young people have positive connections with adults and the community, there is a strong impact on their well-being and future success. The Youth Foundation’s programs are based on the latest youth development research. We activate adults to make young people a priority, and involve teenagers as partners, allowing them to make their voices and ideas heard. The Youth Foundation addresses local teen issues ranging from substance abuse to low aspirations. Over our eleven-year history, we have made a measurable impact, and this is just the beginning.

HOW can you get involved?

The Youth Foundation operates on community participation and donations.
